IICE IISER Bhopal Conducted RAMP MSME Exposure Session on Incubation Ecosystem Development
The Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, conducted a RAMP MSME Exposure Session on 11 May 2026 at IISER Bhopal with the objective of providing exposure and practical insights into incubation ecosystem development, institutional entrepreneurship frameworks, and startup support mechanisms.
The programme commenced with a brief introductory interaction highlighting the objectives of the exposure programme and the importance of strengthening innovation and incubation ecosystems within academic and government institutions. The session witnessed participation from faculty members, incubation coordinators, institutional officials, government representatives, and other ecosystem stakeholders from various institutions.
As part of the programme, participants were taken for an exposure visit to the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), NMR Laboratory, and the incubation and startup support facilities at IICE IISER Bhopal. The visit provided practical exposure to advanced research infrastructure, innovation support systems, and incubation facilities established at the institute. The interaction facilitated knowledge exchange and discussions on institutional innovation support and startup ecosystem development.
The technical session was conducted by Dr. Preeti Chandurkar, Deputing CEO, IICE IISER Bhopal, who delivered detailed presentations on incubation centre development, startup support services, incubation models, funding opportunities, policy frameworks, and government initiatives supporting entrepreneurship and innovation. The session also focused on operational best practices and strategies for developing sustainable incubation ecosystems within institutions. The programme coordination and participant facilitation were managed by Mr. Aman Sinha, Project Incubation Manager, and Ms. Anjali Maran, Project Office Associate, IICE IISER Bhopal.
The programme concluded with an interactive Question and Answer session wherein participants discussed various aspects related to incubation centre establishment, mentorship networks, funding support mechanisms, institutional sustainability models, and startup ecosystem strengthening.
The session served as a valuable platform for institutional learning, ecosystem interaction, and exchange of best practices related to innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship development.
IICE IISER Bhopal Hosted MSME MP Laghu Udyog Nigam Exposure-cum-Orientation Programme under the RAMP Scheme
The Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, hosted the MSME MP Laghu Udyog Nigam Exposure-cum-Orientation Programme under the RAMP Scheme on 07 May 2026 at IISER Bhopal. The programme was organized by MSME MP Laghu Udyog Nigam to provide exposure and orientation on incubation ecosystem development and entrepreneurship promotion.
The session was conducted by Dr. Preeti Chandurkar, Deputing CEO, IICE IISER Bhopal, who delivered presentations on incubation centre development, startup support mechanisms, innovation ecosystems, and institutional entrepreneurship frameworks. The programme witnessed participation from around 30 representatives of various incubation centres and institutions across Madhya Pradesh, including faculty members, incubation coordinators and institutional officials.
The programme also included an exposure visit to the incubation and startup support facilities at IICE IISER Bhopal, where participants gained practical insights into incubation infrastructure, innovation support systems, and startup mentoring mechanisms. The visit facilitated interactive discussions and knowledge exchange among representatives from various incubation centres across Madhya Pradesh. The programme coordination and participant facilitation were managed by Mr. Aman Sinha, Project Incubation Manager, and Ms. Anjali Maran, Project Office Associate, IICE IISER Bhopal.
The programme concluded with a valedictory session delivered by Dr. Abha Rishi, Head, MP Startup Centre, who addressed the participants on the significance of innovation-led entrepreneurship and the role of institutional incubation ecosystems in promoting startup growth and regional innovation development. The session concluded with certificate distribution to all participants.
One Week Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP)
With great enthusiasm and a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators, the Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE), in association with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), IISER Bhopal, organized a One-Week Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP) on Data Science and Data Analytics from 23rd to 27th February 2026. Sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) Division, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, the programme brought together an inspiring mix of MSME owners, startup founders, research scholars, and students, all united by a shared curiosity for the transformative potential of data-driven technologies. Over five enriching days, distinguished experts from academia and industry led immersive sessions on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, startup validation, and real-world industry applications, giving participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from the best minds working at the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship. Participants also had the chance to explore the IICE incubation facilities, gaining first-hand exposure to what it truly takes to build and grow a startup from the ground up. The programme concluded on an inspiring note with the Valedictory Session, leaving participants motivated to channel their newfound knowledge into ventures of their own and reinforcing IISER Bhopal's unwavering commitment to building a vibrant, innovation-led entrepreneurial ecosystem.
START UP MENTORING SESSIONS
With tremendous enthusiasm and a sense of absolute pride, the Student Development Council of IISER Bhopal along with the Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE) organized the Launch event of the first Entrepreneurship Cell of IISER Bhopal. The event was aimed at instilling a sense of innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and strategic industrial vision among the ingenious minds of our brilliant student community. IICE and E-Cell collaborated to build a perfect platform for everyone who aims to build a venture of their own or is enthusiastic about knowing the nitty-grits of the industrial world, an opportunity to get to know some unbeknownst, lesser-known real-life stories of the successful keynote speakers who have been great founders of innovative startups.
Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE), IISER Bhopal organized a Talk on “Nurturing a Sustainable Incubation Ecosystem” on 16 January 2024.
Our esteemed speaker, Dr. Mryutyunjay Suar, Director General - R&D at KIIT-Bhubaneswar and CEO of KIIT - TBI, shared his vast experience in the areas of innovation, incubation, technology deployment and technology commercialization.
Faculty members, students and startups incubated at IICE, IISER Bhopal interacted with Dr. Suar to understand the roadmap towards creating a successful science and technology based enterprise.

On April 11th 2023, the college students from Truba Institute of Pharmacy, Bhopal (M.P.) along with their faculty members visited Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE), IISER Bhopal. The objective of this visit was to gain knowledge about entrepreneurship and understand the functioning of an incubation centre.
During the visit, the students were provided with an overview of the essential aspects of entrepreneurship and the start-up ecosystem, in addition to the tour of Incubation centre's facilities. They also had the opportunity to visit the Institute's Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), where they learned about the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Mass facility, Single Crystal and Powder facility (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) facilities.

About the Speaker
Speaker – Ms. Poyni Bhatt, Ms. Poyni Bhatt, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SINE, IIT Bombay
Poyni Bhatt is a qualified legal and compliance professional - A fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), turned to dealing with entrepreneurship and technology business incubation, helping entrepreneurs for over a decade. She has an experience over 3 decades in industry and academia.
She is a founding team member and the Chief Executive Officer of SINE, the technology business incubator at IIT Bombay. She has been involved in more than 200 start-ups supported by SINE since 2004 and actively mentoring start-ups and innovators outside SINE as well. She has handled several collaborative international programs for innovators and entrepreneurs, most recently with Switzerland and Canada. Start-ups supported by SINE have collectively raised approx. USD600 mn. with a collective valuation of USD2.48 bn. SINE's portfolio also includes a unicorn. SINE also got partial exits of its equity holding in more than one-third of the startups supported by it.
Prior to SINE, Poyni had a corporate experience of over a decade in the manufacturing and investment banking sectors, where she headed secretarial, legal, and compliance functions. She has handled IPOs and fundraising, structured corporate M&A deals, and also dealt with various Indian regulators.
She is a member of several committees of government and trade associations for innovation, entrepreneurship, and incubation, and also a member on the boards of several incubators.

Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE) and its Incubatees participated in the 8th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2k22 Start-up conclave held in Bhopal (M.P.) from 21st – 24th January2023 showcasing various technologies and innovations developed with various facilities offered at the Incubation Centre.
IISF is an annual celebration of Innovations in Science & Technology to create the common platform for the incubators and startups to discuss the innovative ideas, translating them to technologies/ products & grant , investment, business opportunities organized every year by the Ministry of Science & Technology along with Ministry of Earth Science and other Scientific Ministries /Departments of Govt. of India, in association with Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA) - Marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology and Innovation with Department of Biotechnology as lead organizer. Celebrating IISF 2022 during India's Presidency of the G20 summit provided an additional edge to showcase Indian scientific accomplishments at global level. The activities during the festival fostered the global theme of G20 "One earth, One Family, One Future".
